Agamy, for a committed vineyard

Agamy has always worked with respect for natural resources and with a concern for maintaining the local economic fabric.
The need to produce better has grown in the cellar, as has the desire to embed the values ​​of social responsibility within the corporate strategy.

Today, we produce High Environmental Value wines, BIO, Terra Vitis, and have started the process to be certified as “Sustainable winegrowing”.

What ?

"Sustainable winegrowing" label

Sustainable winegrowing label involves both the winegrowers, the cooperative and its employees: from viticulture to packaging.

This label includes 4 promises based on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and sustainable development:
– Act for the environment
– Guarantee quality from vine to glass
– Offer the right price for the consumer and the producer
– Support the territory and local heritage

Why ?

For the consumer:
The guarantee of buying a responsible wine with few impact on the environment and maintaining the social and economic fabric of the production area. Guaranteed traceability from vine to glass.

For the cooperative:
The opportunity to work differently and reduce ecological footprint. The involvement of all the teams in a responsible approach.

At Agamy :

  • Agamy is certified since July 2021
  • Continuous improvement approach in all departments
  • Training of employees and winegrowers in sustainable development
  • Diagnosis of the operation of cooperative members and improvement plan
  • Monitoring of the impact of the cellar on the environment: water, electricity, waste, recycling ...
  • Action plan to ensure the best price for producers and consumers
  • Improvement of the working conditions of employees, work groups, social involvement in the territory

"High Environmental Value" label

What ?

The HVE label concerns the entire farm.

It responds to consumer demand for sustainable, environmentally conscious agriculture.

The HVE label is based on results indicators relating to biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy, fertilization and irrigation management. It identifies and promotes agricultural practices that are more respectful of the environment:
– which develops biodiversity in the conduct of operations
– which limit inputs as much as possible (phyto, fertilizers, energy, etc.)

Why ?

For the consumer:
The guarantee of choosing a wine from an environment that respects the environment. Support for estates and farms that put nature back at the center of agricultural activity.

For the winegrower:
The response to customer demand to choose products with low environmental impact. The opportunity to work in a more “sustainable” way. Maintaining biodiversity on its exploitation.

At Agamy :

  • 500 hectares of vines are already certified
  • 60 winegrowers are certified to date
  • Goal: 90% of the vineyard certified within two years

The "Organic Agriculture" label

What ?

Organic farming consists in resorting to cultivation practices concerned with respecting natural balances. It excludes the use of synthetic chemicals and limits inputs.

The products mainly used are copper and sulfur, associated with mechanical tillage or grassing.

Many of the winegrowers in our cooperative who are not certified organic have similar practices in their cultivation routes, proof of their desire to always improve!

It helps to preserve biodiversity, soil, air and water quality.

In organic production, we can experiment with innovative practices likely to be more widely developed in agriculture. These processing methods favor the enhancement of the natural characteristics of the products.

At Agamy :

  • 11 committed winegrowers on 42 ha : 25 in Beaujolais - 7 in IGP and French wine - 4 in Forez and 2 in Coteaux du Lyonnais
  • 42 ha in conversion
  • Production of more than 100,000 bottles
  • Goal: 30% of our areas certified organic or in conversion within 3 years
